Calcium chloride is obtained through the refinement of naturally occurring brine, the neutralization of hydrochloric acid with calcium carbonate, or as a by-product of the Solvay process used in the production of synthetic sodium carbonate. It serves various applications, including oil and gas drilling, deicing, and numerous other industrial uses.
